FAQs
-
We spend 2 days in each area and move from urban to rural areas. Each day looks different! Sometimes we are visiting with a school or orphanage in the morning and then heading to a market in the afternoon or traveling to the next location in the morning and then visiting a hospital in the afternoon. See John’s video below for more info.
-
We try to keep trips to 4-6 people. Our goal is not to disrupt the organizations or places we visit more than needed. A larger group does more harm, turning the focus on us versus the people we are giving a photo away to. As well, we are not a tour company and like to keep our groups small so we can easily fit in smaller vehicles.
-
We have had ages 13-80 join us! See Jill’s video below for more on activity level for older adults.
-
Yes! We have many trip participants who fundraise their entire trip cost. We provide lots of help! See Erica’s video below for more info.
-
Prior to every trip we meet as a group 4 separate times on Zoom to go over everything you need to know! We go over packing lists, visa and vaccine requirements, cultural history, and more!
-
We stay in what we call ‘rustic lodging’. That means we stay in places that allow us to get to know the local people and places! Sometimes that is a small hotel or hostel, but more often than not we are staying in homes. We always stay where there is bedding provided.
-
Yes! There is always risk with any travel, but we ensure our groups are always accompanied by local guides.
